A literacy and cultural education initiative that empowers indigenous children in Mindanao through access to books, storytelling, and community learning.
Libro Para sa Batang Katutubo is JCI Davao’s flagship project addressing educational inequality and cultural marginalization among indigenous youth in Mindanao. The initiative delivers books, reading sessions, and cultural storytelling workshops that respect and uplift indigenous heritage.
By providing age-appropriate reading materials in both Filipino and native dialects, as well as facilitating interactive storytelling with community elders and authors, the project instills literacy skills and cultural pride. Through these activities, Libro fosters a lifelong love of reading while honoring ancestral narratives and traditions.
