What is Project Breadwinner?

Project Breadwinner by JCI Davao addresses socio-economic challenges in underserved communities by equipping local residents with marketable bread-making and business management skills. Launched in 2022, the program was initiated by JCI Senator Louel Zambrano and later rolled out in partnership with TESDA, offering industry-recognized training and certificates.

Conducted typically over 6-to-10 consecutive days, Project Breadwinner trains approximately 50 participants in artisanal bread production—from dough preparation to baking and quality control—while also providing guidance in entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Objectives of the Project

Skill Empowerment
Provide hands-on training in bread-making techniques and quality control, enabling participants to produce market-ready baked goods.
Business Literacy
Teach essential entrepreneurship, financial management, and marketing skills to help beneficiaries launch and sustain micro-business ventures.
Certification & Recognition
Offer TESDA-accredited certification to enhance participants’ legitimacy and opportunities in the local baking industry.
