Davao City, Philippines — Around 40 families of children on the autism spectrum participated in Kamp Pag-Asa: Camp PMAG, a three-day inclusive camp organized by JCI Davao from June 20 to 22, 2025, at the PMAG Tambayan in Matina, Davao City.
The project, chaired by AC Bajana of JCI Davao, was held in partnership with the University of the Immaculate Conception, Parents Mobilization Action Group (PMAG), iDea Therapy Center, and AutismBilities. It aimed to create a safe and empowering environment for children with special needs while equipping their parents with essential knowledge and support.
Camp activities included nature treks, creative workshops, team-building games, and informative lectures for parents. While the children engaged in sensory-friendly play and expression, parents attended sessions on neurodiversity, care strategies, and inclusive community practices.
“Kamp Pag-Asa was not only about fun and recreation — it was about recognizing the unique needs of neurodiverse families and giving them a space to connect, learn, and feel supported,” said Bajana.
The initiative reflects JCI Davao’s broader commitment to inclusive, development-oriented community engagement, with a strong focus on empowering families and advocating for acceptance and understanding of children with special needs.
Kamp Pag-Asa forms part of the organization’s mission to develop young leaders and create meaningful impact through responsive and inclusive programming.
