March 8, 2025 | Arcadia Events Center, Davao City
JCI Davao marked a momentous chapter in its history with the successful staging of its 77th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies, held at the elegant Arcadia Events Center. With the theme “All-In 77: Serving Above and Beyond,” the evening was a powerful celebration of enduring leadership, shared vision, and the unbreakable spirit of service that has defined JCI Davao for over seven decades.
Honoring a Trailblazing Year
The event honored the incredible service of Architect Carlo Franco Santos, who brought JCI Davao to greater heights during his tenure as 2024 Local Organization President. Under his dynamic leadership, the chapter not only flourished in terms of programs and impact but also earned national acclaim, culminating in his recognition as the Best of the Best President during the 2024 National Convention in Clark, Pampanga.
In a symbolic and heartfelt passing of the gavel and medallion, attended by JCI Davao’s esteemed past presidents, the torch was officially handed to the 2025 leadership team.
Welcoming the 2025 Board
Stepping into the role of President is Engr. Anthony John Christopher Castro, who now leads the chapter with the compelling call to go “All-In.” In his vision message, President AJ Castro shared:
“This year, we are called not just to serve—but to serve above and beyond. We are All-In not only in heart and mind, but in action and in legacy. We are more than a team—we are a movement of purpose.”

Joining him in charting the chapter’s future are the newly inducted officers:
- Secretary General: Arman Miguel Montero
- Treasurer: Jerry Acido, Jr.
- VP for Individual Development: Jazzi Pierre Mondejar
- VP for Business Opportunities: Engr. Sherwin Lester Dumago
- VP for Community Development: Francis Frederick Consolacion
- VP for Internationalism: Ralph dela Cerna
- Director-at-Large: Marlon Suelto
- 2026 President-Elect: Marc Leo Esponilla
The charging of officers was led by Regional Vice President Mikhael Dujali III, followed by the formal induction by Area Vice President Charinna Barro-Quilaneta, wife of Immediate Past National President Mac Quilaneta, who also served as the 2018 Local Organization president of JCI Davao.
A Gathering of Nations and Leaders
The event was graced by delegates from various chapters across the Philippines and the National Board of JCI Philippines. It was made even more meaningful by the presence of representatives from JCI Sapporo, one of JCI Davao’s valued international sister chapters—reaffirming JCI Davao’s strong global ties and commitment to internationalism.
Celebrating Service and Excellence
True to tradition, the night also recognized individuals and chapters who exemplified the values of active citizenship. Among the highlights were:
- Most Outstanding Member: Ralph dela Cerna
- Most Outstanding Happy Member: Arjay Ongachen
- A unique award introduced by Past President Carlo Santos to honor those who uplift others and radiate positivity in the organization, echoing his leadership philosophy of “Happy Members.”
Clad in their finest suits and gowns, members and guests embodied the elegance and pride befitting the occasion. While there were no performances, the spirit of the evening stood as a performance in itself—one that celebrated heart, history, and a hope-filled future.
Looking Ahead
With new leaders at the helm and the chapter’s unwavering commitment to purpose-driven impact, JCI Davao embarks on its 77th year all-in—ready to serve, lead, and go beyond.
As President AJ Castro reminds us:
“Together, we don’t just build leaders. We build legacies.”
